Region 16 ESC and the Title I Statewide School Support and Family & Community Engagement Initiative is excited to invite you to the 2017 Statewide Parental Involvement Conference, November 30 – December 2, 2017, at the Crowne Plaza Houston Near Reliant which will serve as the host hotel and conference site. This will be our 13th year to host this amazing event. The conference will provide opportunities for educators, parents, and community leaders to learn strategies for empowering all stakeholders to increase student achievement and to meet the required mandates while learning more about the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
The conference, Don’t Stop Believin’, promises to build the capacity of all the participants in the family and community engagement arena. If every child is going to succeed, it is paramount that we all work together with mutual respect and trust! Working together, we can divide the tasks and multiply the success.
Texas Education Agency (TEA) staff will offer multiple concurrent sessions that will provide the most up to dateESSA requirements and legislativeupdates in family and community engagement. The top parental involvement practitioners from around the state will offer presentations demonstrating evidence-based research practices and strategies that will result in increased family and community engagement, as well as higher achievement for all students. There will also be a series of workshops provided in Spanish and translators will be provided at all the pre-conference and general sessions.
Come join us in Houston; we look forward to seeing you! Don’t Stop Believin’ in our educators, in our kids, and in yourself with a confidence that parent and family engagement leads to student success!
