You are invited to participate in the 2011 Statewide Parental Involvement Conference, December 8-10, 2011 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. The conference will provide opportunities for educators, parents, and community leaders to learn strategies for empowering all stakeholders to increase student achievement and to meet the required mandates of the Elementary and Secondary Education (ESEA) Act. The conference, “Parental Involvement: Promise and Progress”, promises to build the capacity of all the participants in the parental involvement arena. If no child is to be left behind, it is paramount that we all work together to “light the way” for a successful tomorrow for all our students.
TEA staff will offer multiple concurrent sessions that will provide the most up to date ESEA requirements and legislative updates in parental involvement. The top parental involvement practitioners from around the state will offer presentations demonstrating scientifically based research practices and strategies that will result in increased parental involvement, as well as higher achievement for all students. There will also be a series of workshops provided in Spanish and translators will be provided at all the general sessions.
We look forward to seeing you at Dallas in December.
